The chase took place around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday after patrol units spotted the unidentified teen driving the tan Buick Century that was stolen Monday during the course of an armed home invasion, said Av Harris, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police Department.
Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but instead, the teen took officers on a chase through the Hollow area of the city, into downtown that ultimately ended in the Black Rock section of the city, where he parked in the driveway of a home on Grover's Street and fled on foot, said Harris.
After a brief foot chase, the teen was captured by officers following a struggle. During a search, officers found he was in possession of crack cocaine, Bridgeport police said.
The teen was also involved in an incident on Friday where he threatened a victim and attempted a robbery by displaying a firearm, Harris said.
Police are currently waiting for his mother before interviewing him regarding the different crimes.
As the result of the pursuit, one minor accident was reported in the downtown area, and there are no reports of injuries.
